The toddler program focuses on the needs of the growing 2 year old and the increased awareness of others. Here, sharing is reinforced as are other practices such as giving thanks before meals and saying “please” and “thank you”. Group time is also part of the toddlers’ day as the children are called from their independent activities to hear a short story or learn a new song. These children play outside every day on the playground, encouraging large motor skill development. Toddlers nap after lunch on their personal, low to the ground cot. Seasonal activities and craft projects are more detailed for toddlers, challenging their fine motor abilities.
